Corridor Mural · Chattanooga, TN · 2024
A hundred feet of raw brick painted as a love letter to Chattanooga — barn signs, the incline, the riverboat, the eyes you grew up seeing from the highway.

Raw brick · Steel columns · Ceiling deck
Painted straight onto raw brick, so the wall is still a wall.
A hundred feet of original brick in a commercial corridor. Rather than flatten it with primer, the paint went straight onto the brick so the texture stays in the image.
Everything in it is something you would recognize from a car window in Chattanooga — the barn roofs, the incline, the riverboat, the eyes.

A detail
Painted onto raw brick, not onto primer
Priming it first would have given a flat, easy surface and killed the thing that makes it work. The mortar lines run through every image, so the wall is still obviously a wall.
